hi folks have a caddy maxi trying to change the gear knob any one has any idea how to get the original off . thanks john

Hello John,

very difficult. The gear knob is one part together with the leather below, and after checking with my local parts department, it seems, their is no chance to change the knob.

I have an Votex Golfball, which was in every Volkswagen I drove since 1977 including my Vanagon, where I had to turn a special bolt, which is glued into the gearstick, to get it installed.
But now, with the Caddy, I have no chance to use it in my daily driver and now I have to take it over into my customcar Vanagon Panelvan.
